Hey guys sorry im new, and i already posted this in another location. After i read a little more i realized that i posted in the wrong place. I have a vantage 300 and i was wondering if any of u guys use this machine and might have some imput on the different settings like downhill pipe or cc stick. I run alot of 5p+, 7018 and 8010 I am interested on any input that yall have to offer. I also wonder about the capabillities of the generator as well. Thanks
Reply:A few things I can tell you from asking Lincoln when I bought my Ranger 250."Downhill Pipe" is supposed to emulate the exact same waveform as an SA200. I think it does, but I don't use 6010, so its not too important to me.CC Stick soft is for 7018. Try it, run the arc force as low as you can with out the rod sticking. "buttery smooth" is what you get with dry rod.CC Crisp is of course for 6010. The arc force adjustment seems to have a bigger adjustment. Start at 0 and go from there.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:thanks for the info. I have been playin with all the settings all day, startin to get alittle frustrated.
Reply:Pipe mode is just like welding with a SA 200 or other classic machine,it lets you control your amps and volts with arc length.(like ranges and OCV dial) I dont notice the arc force much when running 7018 but with a hippie or 10 rod rod I sure do on my 305G,more for running a bead less for capping. I leave my machine on pipe mode all the time, just what I like anyways. Just look in the owners manual it explains it in there." Welders do it hotter " |
