Reply:Scored a like new Smith CW5A and CC509P. Value +/- $200 for $38 dollars even. At Pawn Shop today. Rubber O-Rings show no wear. No discolor on connections. What a deal
Reply:Cool! I bought the same one off ebay during the winter for around $125.00, brand new. They have the Dual Guard built in flashback arrestor in the head. They quit making this model with the Dual Guard and the lifetime warranty. Smith said they weren't that popular because of the weight. And comparing it with my SC229's, I can see why!!!My Smith collection. Missing is the 36" SC229 on loan indefinately from a friend. And I just picked up this brand new Oxweld C-66 on ebay for $70.00. I havn't had a chance to pick up tips yet. I can't wait to try it. It "feels" great."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! I sent him over to snag that MIC-4 while tbone wasn't looking!" - duaneb55"I have bought a few of Tbone's things unlike Stick-Man who helps himself" - TozziWelding"Stick-man"
Reply:I was thinking about selling my victor and my HF torch and getting a new ESAB with the lifetime warranty because both the valves are leaking on my torches now and the victor has been rebuilt onceused to have a smith, or maybe it was Harris, torch but was hard finding tips for it... at the time everyone seemed to carry Victor only.  everything else was special orderLast edited by soutthpaw; 06-06-2011 at 07:40 PM.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:Stick-Man. I use three and four footers for demo work. Wanted a smaller torch for small work. Was thinking of a Victor 100c. Today looked at Slugger dry cut circular saws. Saleman says he is selling to fire departments to cut the new cars as the jaws of life are braking on the "B bead" Don't understand this. May not have heard him correctly.

Reply:The Oxweld 1500 (use that name when tip searching) series are what fit. Nice price on the torch.Tip size thread:http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=55520I like dealing with ATL, so here's a link:http://www.atlweldingsupply.com/Oxwe...s_c_456-1.htmlFuel gas nozzles:http://products.esabna.com/EN/home/g...el_gas_nozzlesI was thinking about selling my victor and my HF torch and getting a new ESAB with the lifetime warranty because both the valves are leaking on my torches now and the victor has been rebuilt onceused to have a smith, or maybe it was Harris, torch but was hard finding tips for it... at the time everyone seemed to carry Victor only. everything else was special order
Reply:Thanks farmall.Hey Tozzi, two things.1. You probably already know this but just in case; On Smith's, do not use a wrench to tighten the tip nut. Hand tight only. UNLESS, the tip is older and you'll see a small flame coming out of the nut. Then I have had to use a wrench.2. I wonder why our cutting levers are different. Here is a close up of my model #, DG929."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:It cuts like a dream, the old Victor Journeyman is retired to rosebud duty. I like a heavy torch, like heavy darts it goes where you aim it.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."Gas Axes are neat. You can flip the valve and the handle to the other side if you like. Note the drilled boss for that purpose.
