Bicycle elevator

Has anybody ever done a bicycle elevator on this forum? What is needed? I need to do one for 25ft high.
Reply:People here get uppity if someone wants to make a trailer, you want to build an elevator; out of an old bicycle!I'll look forward to the responses.  One thing seemingly absent in the video is a counterweight or any safety devices.  I don't see why something resembling a real elevator can't be made with human power in addition to being safe and reliable.  This is just a pedal powered winch, that frankly seems like a good way to horribly injure your nutsack, if not outright kill the operator.

Reply:The counter weight is there in form of a water tank that can be filled or using a tap, can be regulated according to the weight of the person and system.

Reply:Lol, its neat but I think a ladder would be more reliable and possibly safer!
Reply:I would have it come up through a floor opening with a slide over cover floor panel. Not too keen on trying to climb over railing. You know your gonna let go of brake and break something.

Having the support wires in a triangular orientation so that you can't just Tip over sideways. maybe and a gravity operated gear block to prevent un wanted or expedited descents. or stick to a ladder and use the bike/pedal winch at the top to bring up supplies and such.There are no problems. I always wanted to build a bicycle cable car to cross the creek... but now you've gone and raised the bar with an elevator. If anyone can build one I'm sure Lutadam can do it. I can't wait to see some pictures.

Reply:Thanks guys, I have been away on another project. Making Piggery Farrowing units. Pictures are coming soon. However, reading your posts here, the main concern is really on the safety side. If you can ensure this, the rest is alright. Still hoping to embark on it. Thanks guys!!
