Have my eyes on a new xmt304 cv/cc machine with a xr a wire feeder.   I am wanting to know if i can use a regular mig gun on this feeder to run 035 or 045 wire  instead of push pull aluminum pistol whip that this feeder seems to be designed for. I am not familiar with stuff this new and i dont think my olde miller suit case will interface with this power supply. Anyone have any input??

Reply:Well aluminum is not what i work with most of the time, thats why i am questioning the possibillities. Of using a std whip about 200 amp withy just a push from the unit.
Reply:No, a standard gun will not work on that XR cabinet, but the XMT will run just about any 115 or 24 volt wire feeder miller ever manufactured with the correct connection cord on it.What type of feeder do you already own?Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
