Reply:You should be able to get Lincoln red from your Lincoln distributor. Other than that I would suggest trying fire engine red.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:I have two different welding supply stores that I go to. Both of the sales reps will try their best to talk you out of anything Lincoln. But I will try them first, if that fails, then I will go with fire engine red.. Reply:Take a panel at least 5 or 6 inches square to any auto parts shop that mixes their own paint. They should be able to scan it and mix up paint to match. The stores around here will even put it in a spray can for you if you don't have spray equipment. 3 can minimum.The older centari will do fine. Nasson is cheap but doest color match as well. The higher priced paints are better if it's worth it to you but I'd use centari on mine.
Reply:i recently bought a used Hi-freq box on ebay, and even though it worked great it looked a bit rough.  I used Rustoleum "sunrise red"  I believe.  I'll check tomorrow for sure.  It matches pretty close, and has held up pretty well.  I was actually suprised how well it turned out.  I have a dialarc that I repainted as well, and I did just as tresi advised and took a panel to a paint shop and they mixed me a quart that matched perfectly.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I took the paint match book out of the Napa store and matched up a Case Tractor red that looked like a perfect match.  I bought a 1/2 gallon to paint my crane to match the Ranger 8.  I haven't painted the crane yet to see if it is perfect, but I just shook up the can and popped the lid and held it up to a brand new K857-1 remote control and it looks almost perfect, though things can change after it's painted and dried.  It's Napa part #53C39206.

Reply:Your mostly likely right. It got to the point that I asked the sales clerk, if Miller gave a bigger percent of profit to the store and that's why they bad mouth Lincoln so much. Reply:What you should do is put in an email to lincoln explaining the situation with THEIR distributors.  I would be willing to bet that an attitude change at the store would likely follow pretty quickly.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
