Welding school help

What's good guys. I started a new welding school this week and just have some questions. Ive been to school before for welding but this is more advanced welding i am getting into. If i was to translate the name from Swedish it would translate to qualified welder in the energy sector. Well anyway's we are able to decide how we go about everything. For example you could start with TIG and then work through all the assigsments up to pipe level or you could do this with MIG/MAG or Stick. You can also have multiple process's going on. You could weld TIG one week then Stick the next week for instance. You also may not get to pipe level on all the process's so I need to decide what process comes first and what comes last. I want some help trying to figure out the best way to structure everything to get the most out of my school time. By the way the school is for 1 year. Thanks and keep on burning
Reply:I would start with oxygen & acetylene welding first. This will teach you puddle control. And a big step to learning how to read the puddle. Then SMAW next, then GTAW. Save Mig for last! Reply:Thanks for the advice. I think i should written about my experience welding. I have been welding approx: 1 and a half years with a little time off after school. 1 year in school. I have TIG welded stainless steel more than anything else because I ended up at a company that specializes in stainless steel for 6 months while i was in my previous school. I also worked a few weeks over the summer at a place doing mainly mig welding(Gonna be working there on the side). SMAW is where i have the least experience. I know the basics. I can weld a T joint horizontily pretty decent but that's about it. We are not gonna be doing any oxyecetylene welding. TIG is by far my favorite process. Should i still go with SMAW first or GTAW first. Thanks again for the advice
