Reply:You can really see how much easier it is to have the metal broke (bent) to shape. There is no way to pound and shape that as you go. Looks great. I'm embarrassed to post pictures of my work next to this.
Reply:nice looking job I like that rolled plate look it looks a lot better than the chopped up pieces look.Sent from my SCH-I110 using Tapatalk 2Vantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:Nice job on the rebuild. That has to be the first Liebherr I've seen in the us, huge bucket too.Had to bring out the big feeder no suitcase?Sent from my SPH-L710 using TapatalkTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:very nice work. rolling or braking is much better than the cut and paste/weld method. less welding+quicker install=more money4you.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:Nice Billy, you get all the fun jobs! Did you fully weld it in the end? I would think that even though you used 3/8", $hit would still make its way under. There are a couple companies in chitcago area that use them exclusively. One is Dunnet Bay, the do bridge work. And, the other is Brandenberg, a very large wrecking company.
Reply:Does it take a more substantial set of rolls to roll that material as opposed to mild steel of the same thickness? Is the liner intended to be sacrificial? You work on some pretty cool stuff and you do nice work!

You lay out your lines equally spaced & adjust the brake so it's just braking the material a little. Repeat at every increment until you get the desired radii. It's a very popular alternative to rolling it, being a lot of places aren't gonna have rolls big enough to handle material that thick.
Reply:Nice work. I spent a lot of time on a press as an apprentice forming skins for the local coal mines. Most of the skins were for D11's but there were some for the big Cat 994 loaders, 24 series graders and some of the Hitachi face shovels.

Reply:Nice job!!! If the customer wants hardox then I'd think some hardrod on the top of the lip would be beneficial.                                                       MikeOl' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
