Just scored a Esab Multimaster 260

Just recently bought a esab multimaster 260, it came with the mig set up and have found it welds very nice...I am looking at adding a tig torch to my unit, should I get the remote control module/pedal or just a torch to use with scratch arch, I guess with the scratch arch I would need a torch with a valve on it ??
Reply:From what I've read you will need a gas valve on your torch. Without remote amperage control you can use as a scratch start rig. For a beginner this may take some practice. I recommend visiting your local welding supply or calling weld craft or ck worldwide. They can set you up with what you need by what you want to do. IMHO a remote control of some type would be beneficial for many reasons mainly post flow, heat control and reduced headaches. Reply:Thanks Brand X, was hoping to hear from someone with some esab equipment....Im gonna look into the remote module and foot pedal, also gonna check if my machine has the Inductance trim, I think its a late machine.....Esab also offers a Pulse module, what does it do ??

Reply:So the pulse module only has to do with the mig process, not the tig mode ?? And does it make a noticeable difference ??
Reply:You could get a torch with gas valve and a torch switch. If it's a dc only machine you won't be doing aluminum. So the pedal isn't really necessary. That's how I've been running my Ta 211.
