I've posted in wanted as well,I'm rebuilding a 63-65 sa 200 red face- f162.This machine (made in Toronto) had an old SAF style armature...directly bolted to the flywheel. Tom F. @ Hybriweld rewound me an ordinary armature, now I need the flex plate and all such and sundre to make this happen...I'm only a welder and need help with the mechanical side. please help, and THANKS, Rob
Reply:We saw one such armature about thirty years ago. It was in a 1962 model with a F162 engine. The armature had an extension about 1 1/2 long that actually fit up into machined cavity in crankshaft. We put a flex plate and flywheel onto machine and changed armature. If what you need is a flex plate and flywheel to match, we probably have it. You will want to measure the armature distance to make sure all will fit. weldersales
Reply:Yes Sir, this is exactly what i need, sorry to be so long in replying...The armature is a regular sa 200 one with the common bearing what is that number now 6208? or 6308 anyway it's the most common number...the armature was sent from Tom Fowler rewound by him, I'll measure it all tomorrow...Rob
Reply:Did you ask Tom if he had the parts you need?
Reply:For future reference, it's probably best to have the original rewound. You can send us the whole generator, The cost to have the whole works rewound and varnished is around $1600, GST & freight to and from Edmonton. The problem in having just the rotor done is that the rotor should be balanced in the generator housing.
Reply:Yes I asked Tom and he mentioned sending what I needed, but I should connect with him again I was actually hoping to find something closer to BC to save the shipping from way south....In answer to having the original rewound! that is not an option realistically with the direct drive armatures, as the reason there are so few of them to quote TF "they usually broke the shaft, with no flex plate" Perhaps one of those things where Lincoln had a better idea...They stopped making them.
Reply:Edmonton!!! e-mail me your phone number we need to talk Cruizer...Rob
