Thinking about picking up a new helmet and I was wondering if anyone had experience with the new Digital Infinity?  I was originally planning to get a Digital Elite, but the new Infinity looks interesting.  I am basically a hobby welder (Millermatic 251) primarily fabricating stuff for my Jeep. Thanks for any feedback!
Reply:I have had one for about 6 weeks now and really like it. My Digital Elite got knocked off a table and the lens broke, only reason I upgraded. It is a little heavier due to the large lens but after getting it adjusted I barely notice it. The large viewing area is nice, and the new headgear is comfortable. I had to weld hanging upside down the other day and really noticed the weight then, but it did stay on my head. In those cases I still use my Save Phace.Would I recommend it? Absolutely it is a nice helmet if you can afford it.Sent from my XT1080 using TapatalkAWS 17.1, D1.1 and ASME IX (GTAW)Miller Syncrowave 350LX, Maxstar 150sth, Maxstar 200DX and  Millermatic 252 w/ Spoolmatic 30aMiller buzz box with Lincolin TombstoneThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38
Reply:Thanks for the reply!  It looks like it has been out for 4 months or so, but I couldn't really find much in the way of reviews - which made me a little concerned.  I can probably deal with a little extra weight since it's not an everyday use, and the large window seemed like a really good upgrade over a normal Digital Elite.I don't mind paying a little more for quality tools, and I tend to get stuff that is more "industrial grade" than what my usage would probably dictate - i.e. - a MM251 for limited use hobby welding, Roll-In model vertical band saw for stock cutting, etc.
Reply:I have a student who just got one a couple of days ago. If he comments I'll try to relay what he thinks. I chuckled though, my teaching partner was talking about it and said that it has a clock, alarm, welding time tally ability and a bunch of other stuff. When he checked out some of the functions he had to give the student Hell, he had been there over 2 hours and only had 22 minutes of "arc on time" logged down. Best regards, Allanaevald

Reply:Yeah some of the feature s I'm not sure how needed they truly are. It is interesting to see the actual arc time when your fabbing a project. I've used the alarm while I'm welding in an explosion proof area where I can't not have my phone.Sent from my XT1080 using TapatalkAWS 17.1, D1.1 and ASME IX (GTAW)Miller Syncrowave 350LX, Maxstar 150sth, Maxstar 200DX and  Millermatic 252 w/ Spoolmatic 30aMiller buzz box with Lincolin TombstoneThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38
Reply:Definitely agree with you there pat h, there are a lot of "variables" that affect actual arc on time especially in a work environment. So a person certainly has to take this sort of information with a grain of salt. Best regards, Allanaevald
