Hello, I have a few questions about welding and metal forming technology for a project of building a new welding shop facility. I am a civil engineering student, and I work in my fathers small company. He makes a lot of different steel products, mostly shaft lids, grates, steel column pedestals and other smaller welding products from steel and stainless steel. Current shop is too small for developement, so we are starting a project of a new building. This will be my task, but I lack experience, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Description of the new building: Size: 18*35 m2 (60*115 feet) with 7m (23 feet) height. Inside I plan on having metal forming workshop, storage for material and products and a store for selling products and an office area. Other things i need to consider:-Solar plant on top-place for dyeing-two separate lines for steel and stainless steelMy main questions:-how can I store scrap metal pieces (This is a major problem right now, we have no system, so we simply store everything on top of other pieces and a chaos has emerged after couple of years of uncontrolled storing) -how do you store tools-what kind of air cleaning system is good for a few welding stations-what kind of heating is best -Are there any special solutions for lightning that you would recomend-How should place for dyeing be prepaired, what kind of process do you use-How do you control noise from grinding and polishing When you were building your shops, what were some issues, what would you now change or do differently? Any tips would be very much appreciated! Thank you!
Reply:I would scour GarageJournal for some shop ideas. i think you could get some tips for a few of the areas you've listed. |
