Mystery Filler

I have a very old friend. We're like Cruise and Hoffman in Rainman. I admit though, he's better looking. He marches to the beat of a drummer no one can hear. OCD, he is very disturbed by welding rod stubs on the floor, Everything has to go the way it has been planned or he gets upset. He showed up with a Yamaha bracket from a fender on his four wheeler. Made of four pieces of tube, stamped 2 millimeter and, rod a complex piece. It looks like it had been repaired before with the crudest $100 MIG ever. Unsure what it was made of, and what the broken weld was, I grabbed Hasteloy W,(basic steel filler was in another building). It wasn't my day! Gas wasn't connected, Dave was going off the deep end in full panic (he thought MIG). I gave it back to him, suggesting he weld it. He calmed a little. Distracted with this crazy man, I connected the bottle, adjusted the flow, purged the hose, set the Dynasty, and I soon discovered turned off the gas. As I'm failing, Dave's getting more agitated, I'm getting more distracted. When I'm finally ready to weld, it wouldn't work! Steel piece was welded before with something incompatible with Hasteloy W. It glowed gold like bronze but had a much higher melting temp. I switched to silicone bronze, it didn't go well, but worked.What might this mystery filler be?

Reply:My crystal ball is down at the present time...Pics are needed now....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
