If I have been reading correctly the difference between the 175 that home depot sells and the pro 180 that lowes sells is,the pro 180 has 5 more amps and will take the $200.00 spool gun for aluim and the 175 will not? Anyother differences or downfalls I should know before I buy
Reply:They are the same unit. I believe both will accept the spoolgun. Believe me, the 180 and the 175 are putting out the same power. I could get a spoolgun to work with my old 100 welder by lincoln. It would be gutless for aluminum, but it would work. The difference is the 5 or 6 position tap for power vs. the 1-10 dial.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:just got home with the new pro 180 from lowes ended up getting it for $600.00 seems to be ok haven't used it yet though that will be later in the morning hopefully it will do what i need it to |
