Will a lincoln or miller work on this hobart?And....last but not leastWhat size wire should one start out learning with? Thanks
Reply:Tips are brand specific- You might be able to use a generic brand but even the generic brands are specific to Lincoln,Miller, Hobart etc.Spool gun is brand specific AND model specific..030 solid wire is a really good fit for the HH210's range.I haven't run enough wire to make a judgement on a brand. I just grab the wire off the shelf at my LWS- I don't even know what it is Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:Any is good to start with, then when you think you know  what you are doing, switch to another and notice any differences. But stick with one until you are quite comfortable with it.+1 on Ed's post.Regards,RobGreat Basin WeldingInstagramBlue weldersRed weldersMy luscious Table DIY TIG Torch cooler

Reply:Locally to me, little bottles cost a lot to fill, and you need to fill them often. For me, a 300 CF bottle is a lease thing, but the cost per CF is low enough to break even. I do own some little tanks for portability, or when I run out on Sunday. An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
Reply:Hobart or Miller tips  work on the factory supplied gun.Lincoln's .030 L-56 performs very well on this unit.ESAB Migmaster 250 Hobart Ironman 230Multimatic 215TWECO Fabricator 181i & 211iHH125EZ - nice little fluxcore only unitMaxstar 150 STH - very nice

Reply:Watch some of Jody's videos at welding tips and tricks.   Pay attention to how he does a dry run on his welds sometimes a few times before welding.   Then duplicate that.   Watch your stickout distance on those dry runs.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
