Lincoln SAE300 Questions

I just bought an old Lincoln SAE300 welder with a Hercules QXLD-5 Engine. Problem is someone had the carb apart and took the venturi out of the carburetor. Atleast I think it is supposed to have one. I am trying to figure out what model the carb is. All it says on it is Marvel Schebley and the letter G and the number 10 but they are not together. The code number on the welder is 1408. ANyone have anything good or bad to say about this welder. I only paid $200 for it. No gas and no spark are the only things wrong with it and I fixed the spark. Thanks in Advance,Chuck
