Using c25 shielding gas, 0.023" new 12 pound spool of wire, and having a tough time with this machine on thin sheet metal. I also have a Lincoln wed-pak 15 that works awesome for sheet metal, but my Lincoln dealer told me that I could replace this with the 255c for excellent welding on thin and thick materials...hmmm I am still having a hard time finding the right setting it seems to pop and spark a lot on low setting and DOES NOT weld sheet metal like my weld-pak 155, not even close...what's wrong???? is this welder too powerful for successful sheet metal welding?...I spoke with Lincoln tech line and one of the tech's told me it's not designed for thin material like I'm doing????this is opposite of what my dealer told me?....what setting are you guys using on the 255c for sheet metal, like 22 gauge or so?....I do lots of bodywork for cars, and ideas??? do I have the wrong welder for this procedure??? |
