playing with an older 200 and noticed the armature has what seems to be a couple of low spots. cleaned it with a stone and welded with it most of the day and it does,,deep enough that a stone will not get them out. Is there a safe way to kinda reface it with maybe a flat little piece of wood and an abrasive of some type..anyone done this before
Reply:Commutator Lathe....David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Why the concern? The brushes have a such large contact area on the commutator that a few nicks or pits probably wouldn't be detrimental. To dress out a pit, takes a lot of copper out of the commutator; may be better to leave the pit.Good Luck
