Bought a new AHP 200x tig, it will not crank up to 200 amps

Hello I just bought a new AHP alpha 200x. I love the welder its self but I have it hooked up to 220V but the welder still wont crank up to 200 amps like it is supposed to. I am at a lose as to what to try next so if anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear them. thank you for your help

Reply:it taps out at 150..I thought maybe I had a bad connection with the 220 so I plugged it into the 220/110v adapter chord that comes with the machine and I was no different. so I checked my 220 with a multimeter and I checked out right where it should.

Reply:Just checked mine, on 220, it's hovers right at 199/200 and I 117vac it's right at 140 in both AC and DC,   TIG and stickCheck you have current going to both hot legs of your plug on 200 with a multimeter.    If that's good, maybe the auto switching feature is not functioning and it's stuck on  115vac mode.  Also on ways of the primary amps is set at 200 (all the way clockwise)  should read 140 speed. Reply:I'm having the opposite issue with one of mine. It reads up to 200amps on 110v and 220v. They are looking into it and getting back to me. Reply:Yep check your outlet to make sure you have a true 240v. Also check the wiring on your home plug and the machine.

Reply:maybe I will take it to another location and plug it in and see what happens..at least that will eliminate some things
