Don't get excited it's just a pic... NO sales, trades for late model porsche would be nice1986 Chev 3/4 runs good, low miles. I'm in it about $900 with brand new Michelins and new widshiled. Welder? Oh that belongs to my bud... a Lincoln DIESEL 250 runs ok, and needs some cosmetics and a bit of ojt. His cost $200, yup 200 whole US dollars... I thought he got screwed, 'cept he did get 75 feet of nice leads HEAVY duty with it? Bewtter deal then,. s it goes to the ranch and eventually to his service truck unless U got a keen Porsche for us to ride to the coastenjoy, PapaLionLincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools

Reply:no way?? i can never find deals like this, was it a craigslist special or did some lady get it in a divorce and wanted to piss her ex off??
Reply:Nope, the Lincoln came from a major name (The Pineapple kings) produce plant here. They sent it to the local repair guy who is a Lincoln certified repair facility. That guy told the company it was UN - repairable and that he, out of the goodness of his heart, would give the company $100 for the scrap. The company maintenance head sold it for $200 to my bud who does work for the plant once in awhile. My bud just figured we had a Perkins diesel engine for $200. I told him about Weldmart etc... and we got a manual downloaded and then there's all U guys with help and knowledge... My friend is a top notch mech/welder anyways, and I'm a big help so we figure to get it back welding in short order. The leads were a surprise, a happy oneIn the plant the thing was bolted down to a steel pallet and they moved it to work areas with the forklift. That way they could go low or high etc... a keen idea I thought. We had to unbolt it and return the 130# pallet. They wanted that valuable pallet back. The truck had a service box on it which I $$$old, then I added the flatbed. It's one of the best running old trucks I've ever owned... and it is Sooossooo pretty too It does need a little front end work eventually.Last edited by PapaLion; 03-09-2011 at 07:45 AM.Lincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools
Reply:Nearly everything for that model truck is cheap to replace and they are a breeze to work on. Front end parts, including urethane bushings, are inexpensive. |
