Thinking of buying a bender like the Shop Outfitters one. How does one attatch these pedestal mount benders to the floor? Also would need it to be movable for storage (have to park 2 Jeeps in the garage). Would you bolt it to the middle of the concrete floor somehow, yet still allow you to unbolt it and store it against the wall when not using it. I also don't want studs sticking out of the middle of the floor or anything else to trip on.

Reply:Great idea. To add to it I would screw the allen head bolts first then glue with them being level to the floor. Still flush mount and just have to pick/blow out the heads to unscrew them. Thanks.

Reply:Go to WWW.Grainger.com , Under part number 6JF52. If I remember correctly this is what I used. I drilled, cleaned it out good with air, added some concrete adhesive and drooped it in. It is nice and flush when I remove my bender.

Reply:Originally Posted by WeldordieDrill holes in concrete and epoxy in however many pieces of threaded rods screwed just a bit into coupling nuts and welded.  Glue the inserts in the holes so the top of nuts are level with the floor.  Then just bolt on the pedestal when you need it.  When the pedestal is not in use, screw Allen screws in the nuts, to keep out debris.
Reply:I used some redhead drop-in anchors, they work like a charm.http://www.ramset-redhead.com/RH/multi_prod01.asp

Reply:Originally Posted by RojodiabloEpoxying a bolt in the floor will NOT hold up to heavy use. Hilti, and RedHead both make expansion inserts to do the job that expand and grab. The pedestals that are made by JD squared and the like are with 2 holes. With 1.75 or 2" tubing, those 2 hole setups tend to give grief. I made a bigger pedestal, and went with 4-1/2" inserts. No problems, and I bend lots of large tube.
Reply:Here's my idea: chip out the concrete where you want to have your mount. Insert 2inch receiver tube cut to proper length to be flush with the garage floor surface. Weld on a few rebar spurs onto the receiver tube to prevent twist. Pour new concrete around the receiver tube. Drop your bender leg into the hole. Wanna fill the hole so it's clean for use next time? Weld up a piece of thin flatstock to a short piece of 2X2 tube and stick it in the hole. Now you have a hole for a grinder pedestal, an anvil pedestal, a small removable workbench, a beer holder, whatever you want! All your stands will have a 2inch square tube and all will fit perfectly! Reply:We are talking about 2X2X.250 inserted into a receiver tube, right? Reply:depends what your doing but I have a mount for mine I made that goes in a 2" receiver hitch. There is some play though so more than one bend in different planes is a real pain.
Reply:I am looking to do the same as the OP.Could someone post a photo of a similar setup?Or, offer some further ideas?Thank youedit:  found this on another thread.  http://www.confast.com/products/tech...in-anchor.aspxLast edited by Tony Mo; 11-01-2011 at 07:47 PM.
Reply:HIlti that badboy to the floor with Expansion anchors, if you're worried about strength, I would build a wider base with more holes to accept more anchors, and then anchor it down.If space is a concern, I would go with the reciever hitch idea in the floor.Although that anchor insert does look promising for a flush mount!Last edited by mb_welder; 11-01-2011 at 08:29 PM.

Reply:Thanks for the photos.  What do you put in the holes when not in use?  Do you just screw in some flat head bolts or....?
Reply:http://www.drop-in-anchor.com/#applicationas long as you don't go insane with torquing down the fasteners they work decent.   I put a couple hundred of them in the Oakland Alameda county Colosseum for their diamond level seating.   they remove the bolts every time they convert from baseball to football (about 6 times a year)  so far they have 8 years on them and counting.    they have stripped a couple of them out but so far they have lasted fine.Vantage 500's LN-25's, VI-400's, cobramatics, Miller migs, synch 350 LX, Powcon inverters, XMT's, 250 Ton Acurrpress 12' brake, 1/4" 10' Atlantic shear,Koikie plasma table W/ esab plasmas. marvel & hyd-mech saws, pirrana & metal muncher punches.
