Few shots of putting in a 30 to 20 tee for a metering receipt point. Was a hot day 110deg. the before we hot cut Action shot Finished up rolling up. Now to let the contractor do the rest.
Reply:Nice work, be careful with that heat! When you say hot cut is that the same as a hot tap on a water line where a modified core drill is attached to the flange through a valve and retracted/valve closed once the hole is made?Sent from my GT-P3113 using TapatalkTOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:No we cut out about 30 feet of pipe to put this in. A hot cut is when the line was blown down 0 psi but still has lazy gas. We then Take a torch and cut a large hole. With fire from the gas that's left inside. Once we have a hole an air mover is turned on to draw in air and gas out. Once clear we can cut out our piece and weld the new in. Sometimes we have to weld them hot or with 100% gas. If we have a leaking valve or can't clear it. Keep the gas to rich to explode just burn. A tap is just like you described.
