Sorry if this is the wrong topic, but what would a reasonable price for a miller bobcat 250 with 2500 hours be? It has the Koehler engine.ThanksLincoln AC-225 90 amp flux core
Reply:That is a lot of hours.
Reply:Good chance I heard wrong. I'll have to double checkLincoln AC-225 90 amp flux core
Reply:As a reference, I have a Bobcat 225 and bought it with 1K hours for $100 at auction 4 years ago. Still running good.ChrisAuction Addict
Reply:With that amount of hours, it's more or less used up depending on what type of maintenance it's seen.  You see these small Bobcats and Trailblazers around occasionally with that type of hours on them (or more - recently saw a 3500 hr TB), but their best hours are behind them at that point.  If it runs, welds, and doesn't smoke, $800 would be absolute tops I'd want to pay if I HAD to have a welder, any welder, right now and that was the only machine available within a 200 mile radius.  If I didn't need it and was approached by the owner saying, "Make me an offer," I'd be at $300.If a person were to figure their machine taking $10/hr of their total rate, most any of these small machines would have paid for themselves at 600 hrs.  At 1200 hrs, they'd have also put the money in the bank for the next one.  A machine with 2500 hrs on it has paid its dues, no doubt about it.  Going by the same math, the machine would need to last 80 hrs to pay for itself at $800, or 30 hrs at $300.The above poster got a heck of a deal on his welder - definitely not the average you'd expect to pay for a 1,000 hr machine.Last edited by tbone550; 10-29-2015 at 10:40 PM.
Reply:$500 to $800 depending on the condition with 2500 hours. I have seen bobcats powering equipment on sites that had 5000 hours on them. That were run everyday and looked very decent. I have also seen them with 600 hours that looked like they have been drug off a truck and left in a river. Condition  and maintance is everything Sent from my C811 4G using TapatalkVantage 300 kubota ,miller 304 xmt ,lincoln ln 25 pro , ranger 305 G, plenty of other tools of the trade to make the sparks fly.
Reply:Sounds like a lot of hours for one of these engines. Sad, that these are common site now on the job site,(I have one with about 50 hours on it), knowing they are not going to last like the older Big 20's or 40's. You get the technology but not the longevity.

Reply:Makes economic sense $3500 for a bobcat get 3000 hours? Buy a pro 300 for $12,000 get 10,000 hours? You get 3 years out of a bobcat warranty expires sell it for a grand get another wear out and repeat. Less expense always have a machine under warranty and burn rods and no worries. Reply:We have a Bobcat here on the farm I think its a 225G Plus has 262.8 hours on it .(Maybe 1996 model) Has been kept indoors and covered just used for some repairs. We Run a few hours at a time .  Paid 1800.00 for it with all new leads and holders.  Had only a few hours on it when we got it.  Fellow we got it from used it to power his freezer when power was off.  Looks like it did when it came out of the box. Yes it is serviced and kept clean.   Should serve us for our needs. Sounded like a high price when we got it but it was new for a good discount.  However I have seen some at sales around here that are newer and look like junk with high hours bringing top money.   Good luck  on your purchase.

Reply:2500 hours is a lot but people have gotten double that out of them. A hundred bucks at an auction is not really what I would call a reference point.
