Well i been wanting to change out my wp26 for some time nowand get a light weight torch,so i ended up deciding on a CK 130 flec loc.Now it's arrived i got to putting the lead cover on it,went with light weight hydraulic hose cover,it seems very hard to cut,so hoping it will save my torch lead from a puncher or cut.Has any one here got a flex loc they been using for a while, hows is it holding up ??Do you need to lube the o rings in the head ?Dose the handle come lose when the torch gets hot?? Any way thought i would add some pics of it to  Lincoln Electric Square Wave Tig 275JD2 Bender & Notcher Old 3 phase compressor
Reply:I have a WeldTec Roto-head, and it seems to hold up fine, but it is water-cooled.   On another note, that looks like a badass hose cover! 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:No the head doesn't come loose when it heats up.  Mine has been holding up just fine.  Mine's water cooled though.  Don't use it all the time, switch back and forth between it and the fixed head torch.  Had mine a little over 2 years now.  I'd get it again.  Where did you get that hose cover for your torch?
Reply:I have the TL-210 air cooled regular head torch and the handle will rotate just a little if your walking the cup. Weldermike had the same problem with handle rotation, see post #15 http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...head-TIG-torchI REALLY like that hose cover, will be calling some local hydraulic shops to track some of that stuff down.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE

Reply:The leather cover from CK is very thin and very light.  I guess it's a double-edge'd sword because it might not withstand heavy/industrial use/abrasion.  I wouldn't know because I have it in a home-hobby setup.  For me it works out just fine.Don't bother on the weldtech roto-head I say (unless you get the complete cable package).  It uses a larger-than-normal (compared to CK that is) water outlet fitting that my CK superflex hoses wouldn't slip over without a lot of effort.  I had to slice off a smaller fitting off a cheap chinese water cooled torch (that had 1/8" barbs) and SilBr braze it onto the Weldtec torch For those looking for hydraulic hose cover, I think I may have found an online source:1.06" ID @ $1.39/fthttp://bluestaramerica.com/index.php/as-b-13.html0.86" ID @ $1.11/fthttp://www.mrostop.com/as-b-13-parke...ek-sleeve.htmlShipping to my zip is estimated at $8 for a 25' section, so it's not too bad at all.  Only thing is that you'll have to snake the cable/cable-bundle through the whole length as I doubt it is velcro-close style   The ID of a standard water cooled torch is around 11/16" (0.6875"), so I'm pretty sure the 0.86" ID hose would suffice for both air- and water-cooled setups. But then again a slight larger ID would facilitate coiling it up to store it hanging on a cart.Last edited by Oscar; 06-12-2014 at 04:32 PM. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:Any idea on what temperature the sleeve is rated to withstand?  I had a nylon sleeve (thinner and tighter fitting) on my superflex hose and it melted all the way through to the wire when I inadvertently dragged it across a hot pipe that I had just welded.  I was walking the cup around a tripod and wasn't paying attention.

Reply:Originally Posted by rlitmanSame impression here.  I have the FL-230 water cooled with super flex lines.  I'm familiar with the super heavy duty leather Tillman lead covers, and while they're bulletproof, they'd also seriously weigh down such a fine instrument.  Myself, I'm really happy with the CK leather cover.  It is well suited for TIG users. As for the flex-loc torch itself, I think I mentioned this in another thread:  the weakpoint is how it screws together.  The screw must be tight for a good electrical connection, and for the water cooled handle to draw heat out of the head.  If the screw is not tight, it will arc inside, and chew up the torch from the inside out, slowly ruining it.When I got mine, I cleaned up the contact surfaces, and lubed the seals on both sides of the rotating part (the o-ring on the through-bolt, and the seal on the torch head).  Without lubrication, it is really difficult to get the bolt tight enough with your fingers.  If you're having issues with the torch rotating when walking the cup, it probably isn't tight enough, and a loose bolt will lead to torch failure.

Reply:Originally Posted by LECOits probly good to 250 f or so like Oscar said.I only got it for abrasion and metal chip protection and it weighs next to nothing. You might have to go with silica sleeve 1800 f continuous  $10-15 per foot     LINK http://www.firesleeveandtape.com/AB-...atalog-S-S.pdf
