sa 200,won't ramp-up from grinder

my 55 shorthood ramps-up fine when using welding rod, but it will not reve up when using the outlet plug, any ideas or didn't these older sa,s reve up from the outlet. if i pin it the grinder works fine, but at idel the grinder runs about half speed, any ideas? thanks

Reply:I have to pin my shorthood open to make the grinder work to. But when i hook my grinder to my remote box it will hardly turn the disk. Is this cused from a bad connection where i tied the wire on the remote into the wire on the back of my plug on the front of my machine?
