Earlier this month I was at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.  While I was at the Miller booth, I started talking with the plasma guru from Miller.   My question was, that I was looking to purchase a CNC plasma table and use my Miller 2050.     He told me that my mahcine would work with a torch upgrade.  He also highly recommended "EZ Cut" CNC as he claimed that they were one of the better companies out there with great customer service.     Basically, I"m looking for a 4x4 table that I can use in my home shop.  I don't mind spending the extra money if it truly is a good piece.     Have any of you guys heard of this company? or have used their products? Thanks,     Greg---No good deed goes unpunished---
Reply:I just noticed that Baileigh has one of their own as well.  Wonder who makes that one?---No good deed goes unpunished---
Reply:The EZCut cnc machines are built for EZCut by a company called MultiCam out of DFW, Texas.  Very well built machines....priced a bit above the typical entry level 4x4 machines found at Torchmate and PlasmaCam.The EZCut machines use an industrially hardened PC based cnc control with an integrated height control system....they come standard with stepper motor drives but you can upgrade to servos. If you call Steve Dinsmore at EZCut....I am sure he can refer you to some of his customers that can talk to you about customer service, etc.Hypertherm plasma would be the system of choice on most EZCut machines.Jim Colt Originally Posted by mebuilditEarlier this month I was at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Thanks,     Greg

Reply:I have a Torchmate 2x2, and I love it. Hard to imagine working in the shop without it.I have had zero problems, and the customer support is great. They were recently boughtby Lincoln.Miller Synchrowave 180 SDLincoln PowerMig 255Hypertherm Powermax 45Torchmate 2x2Victor O/A
Reply:If your looking for a good quality 4x4 cnc, the Plasmacam is hard to pass up. You can get a Torchmate growth series 4x4 machine very inexpensively but you have to add to your cost to get the options that the 4x4 Plasmacam unit comes standard with.Jim, I enjoyed your article on HD plasma in Practicle Welding mag.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:BTW Torchmate is now owned by lincoln.
Reply:There are many choices in regards to specifying and purchasing a cnc plasma cutting machine. At my last count...there are over 85 manufacturers worldwide that produce x-y cutting machines.....from Torchmates 2 x 2 machine for under $3k.....to do it yourself kit machines....all the way up to large shipyard machines that can cost in the $1 million dollar range.Since there are so many choices regarding performance, accuracy, ease of use, productivity, size and price....you kind of need to set your priorities before deciding which brand and design is best for your needs!I did a webinar a while back that is specific to the choices ...especially in what I call the "entry level" cnc plasma machine market. Here is a link to the webinar which is located on the www.hypertherm.com  site under the education tab. There are some other informative webinars as well as plasma related training presentations on the Hypertherm site as well.  Link:   http://www.hypertherm.com/en/Trainin...tion/Webinars/Best regards, Jim Colt
Reply:Not sure your price range but I looked at the DynaTorch table at the Fabtech show and it does look impressive. They offer complete packages with down draft or water tables as well as a kit with drawings to fabricate your own table.Pretty much a given....whatever you get hang a Hypertherm unit on it.AlA man is judged by what's between his legs...always ride a good horseMiller DialArc HFLincoln Classic 300DThermal Arc 181iPowermax 45Scotchman Ironworker(2) BridgeportsOkomota Surface GrinderAutoCAD 2010
