The rusted fish was the very first thing that I ever welded, next was the butterfly, then the salmon, and finally the trellises. I am new to welding and have a lot to learn, criticism is good to hear if it is constructive thank you for looking. Happy hump day!! Attached Images
Reply:I like the first fish. How does it balance? Also, what was the crank from?Im not into butterflies but yours is ok.
Reply:Thank you! I honestly don't know what the crank came from I picked it up at a scrapyard. The fish is balanced on a steel plate that is hidden from view by a hole I cut into the shelf. It is very heavy but i managed to find the center of balance and welded the hell out of it lol.
Reply:Nice projects made from scrap. I too like the first fish.

Reply:I had to ask about the crank. It looks like it has a mild knife edge to it.Last edited by Insaneride; 08-28-2014 at 10:01 AM.

Reply:I got the crank out of a metal salvage yard here in Phoenix, Arizona. I just thought it was cool looking. I also picked up a bunch of old cams, I would like to use them as table legs if I ever get the time to do that project. Thank you everyone for the nice feedback. I know these projects are not to a professional level but I also realize that I have only been going this for a year.
