Repurposeing an old fence

Spent yesterday chopping down this fence and making it fit. It's in a terrifying neighborhood that's being gentrified. It keeps crack heads from sitting on that block wall and drinking/tossing bottles at the cars in the car lot. Glad I was packing, had a bunch of people come up and ask for money while I was working.  Chopped off about 10 inches on the bottom and attached it to a peace of 3/8 by 3" and attached it to those postes.

Reply:Not only that look how far away he was from his tools ,must not have been all that bad of an area,I knew a guy had his welder stolen while welding ,someone hooked it up and drove off ,yanked the stinger out of his hand .

Reply:Having the welder stolen while useing it is pretty crazy. Can totally see that happening, amazing what people will steel in that area. The building next door was broken into by knocking a hole in the block wall since the doors were all steel reinforced. Yep some one painted it green when I was haveing lunch..... I get a lot of love/hate from the farmers around here depending in there deere or ih. I'm loveing the bed, so much more useful than a pickup. I set 4 hitch receivers into it so I can have all kinds of crap hanging off it. Picked up some metal today to build a Hoosier pole that fits where the forward rack mounts. Reply:The receiver idea is cool! I had problems with my pipe bender staying mounted to the floor, welded an old Reese hitch to it and stuck it on the back of the truck! Problem solved!!! Reply:Nice job.I hear you re the neighbourhood. Years ago a company I worked with were putting security screens over the bottom floor of a new school that had just opened. Meanwhile the animals were on the next floor up twisting off the coathangers, you know the kind that are made completely around the rod, and trying to spear us with them. We had to lock our torch in the truck whenever we we out of sight .....Mike
