I just got an old ac 225. Never arc welded before so I know nothing. I have been going thru it cleaning it up. (found a great thread on here to help me) When I took the electrode holder apart I found that the cable was simply inserted into it and the allen screw was driven down thru the cable. Didn't seem like a very good connection. In the manual they show a little clamp piece that goes in there. It is missing. Can anyone describe what it is so I can make one ? Does it need to be brass or will a section of copper tubing work. Thank you.gg
Reply:a piece of copper tubing works good. a little sawing, some bending then push it up between the welding cable and the bolt and bob's your uncle.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla

Reply:You can also get some copper "flashing." It comes in a roll and is usually sold in the roofing aisle at the local big box hardware stores. Simply cut a piece off and wrap it tightly around the end of the copper wiring.Lincoln Power Mig 216Lincoln AC/DC-225/125Miller 625 X-Treme PlasmaMiller 211 Forney 95FI-A 301HF 91110Victor Journeyman O/PMilwaukee DaytonMakita Baileigh NRA Life Member
