Hello all, we have a heat exchanger job that we have to join titanium to stainless to copper,I believe in that order. Spec's call for brazeing, although the type of rod is not specified. (and it has been done beforeapparently) any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
Reply:I recently brazed titanium to stainless on a foreign exhaust system using si- bronze. All went very smooth, just very time consuming. Cool down time in between short runs was major critical. I would get about a inch and a half of welding, then have to wait almost a half hour before the next run. I was able to get away with jumping around at first, but after the whole piece was hot it was about a little over a inch at a time. Tip off with the Ti to stainless was when your puddle would start to show the slightest sign of starting to wrinkle up, STOP immediately and let cool.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys

Reply:I suppose the big advantage here brazing the TI is that the whole piece doesnt need to be in an argon box to weld lol
