I rigged up my Milwaukee Portaband with a table and a foot control, but the $20 plastic foot controller I got broke after 2 weeks. Anyone know of a good one I can get to replace it with? Not a variable speed, just on/off.Miller Challenger 172Miller Thunderbolt AC/DC 225/150Miller Maxstar 150 STLVictor 100CVictor JourneymanOxweld OAHarris O/ASmith O/A little torchNo, that's not my car.
Reply:McMaster and Carr has several to choose from. I use a momentary contact on my vertical band saw as it allows a bit of safety factor. The saw stops as soon as I step off the switch.http://www.mcmaster.com/#pedal-switches/=fgtmy5RogerOld, Tired, and GRUMPYSalesman will call, Batteries not included, Assembly is required, and FREE ADVICE IS WORTH EXACTLY WHAT YOU PAY FOR IT!Dial Arc 250HFThunderbolt 225 AC/DCAssorted A/O torches

Reply:I haven't, but you are controlling a solenoid so an on-off switch or button would work.I'd just buy a TIG torch head with a valve instead to avoid dealing with the pedal, but you could put a switch anywhere you like. |
