Reply:I have one but since its my first and the only one I've ever used I wouldn't know if it was bad or not.But it welds everything I've tried to weld and I really like it.Also got the spool gun for it..045 is too heavy for it
Reply:I have a 180c. Run it everyday. Has worked well for me for 3 yrs. 045 flux core run excellently. Use good quality wire and match the guage wire to the metal thickness. I too have the spool gun. It works well for what it is.
Reply:I used to have a Mig Pak 180 . Honestly , I did not care for it much . It was ok for light weight materials , but , I found that the more you pushed it ( higher settings ) the worse it got . To be fair though , I was coming from a Miller 210 , so this was quite a step down .After about 2 months , I sold it and replaced it with a Power Mig 180C , which I found to be a much better machine with a much better drive system .If you can get the Mig Pak 180 for a really low price , and you don't expect too much from it , it might be all you'll need .Miller MM252 with Q300Hypertherm PM1000Everlast Powertig 200DXMiller Syncrowave 200
Reply:Oh BTW , I've seen my local Canadian Tire feature the Mik Pak 180 quite often for a better price than that Kijiji ad . So , you might want consider that option .Miller MM252 with Q300Hypertherm PM1000Everlast Powertig 200DXMiller Syncrowave 200
Reply:The best i ever seen at crappy tire is $650 plus 13% tax.i was planning on running .035 on the machineis there a difference between the Mig pack and a 180c
Reply:I've seen the local stores here go as low as $500 or so ( + tax ) . Not a big savings over the Kijiji ad , but , you get warranty . There is a significant difference between the Mik Pak 180 vs the Power Mig 180c ,The biggest difference is the the 180c has an infinite voltage control ( compared to 5 taps ) and this gives you the ability to fine tune the weld output much better . Also , the 180c uses a much better feed / drive mechanism made from aluminum ( vs plastic ) . The 180c is simply a better machine . I guess it all comes down to what you intend to weld and how thick it is . 3/16 is the upper limit of these machines ( single pass ) . I went from the Mig Pak 180 to the PM180c and then to the Miller 180 Auto Set . IMO , the Miller 180AS was significantly more powerful with a nicer arc . New , the 180c and the Miller 180 are about $1000 or so and that is a big jump over what you are currently looking at . But , you do get what you pay for . In the long run , it's worth the added cost if you use the machine a lot .Miller MM252 with Q300Hypertherm PM1000Everlast Powertig 200DXMiller Syncrowave 200 |
