Question for plasma cutting pros, i have a cutmaster 82, future job is to cut quite a few steel sheets 16 ga. i plan to stack them 3 or 4 sheets thick and save time and setup. these are straight cuts and tolerances are quite generous +/- 1/16 and maybe more.  From your experience is it a + or a - ?
Reply:Stack as many as you want...if there is no air gap (no air gap!) between them they will cut very well. On repetitive jobs I always suggest stacking something on the top as a weight to hold them tightly together. If there is an air gap....there will be an ugly, welded, not cut through area.Jim Colt  Hypertherm
Reply:I would also think you kerf width is going to be larger using consumables properly sized for .24" material vs .06"I don't post much, but I read this forum every day...4x8 Bulltear Gantry Kit CNC PlasmaHypertherm 85Millermatic 251Dynasty 350Turnpro 7x12 Miter Bandsaw...one packed garage >
