Reply:OK here is some information.Grey Stainless steel 16 gauge- Lincoln CV350-setting 16.3 volts just under 200 wire feed. The product is a manifold for a HVAC unit. Two channels are welded together. One side capped and the other gets a black pipe nipple.
Reply:so I guess the weld is crappy. LOLI compared this to the chart (Miller) and it appears to be a good weld. I am just looking to improve my skills.
Reply:I have never MIG welded stainless, so I can't comment. plus the pics are not the greatest. Can't see the toes of the weld, etc.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:crappy... Thanks for the chuckle.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:I haven't done stainless MIG either but the weld itself doesn't look too bad. 16 gauge probably doesn't need as big of weld. I think maybe your pictures are too close up to see it properly.
Reply:The MIG stainless welds I always see seem to look similar to the OP's post.12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829
Reply:Just curious question for the OP. What kind of gas are you using....If any since you don't mention a gas in your settings ?----------------------Therefore, the recommended shielding gas to use for short circuit stainless steel MIG welding is a tri-mix shielding gas, such as 90%He/7.5%Ar/2.5%CO2. The high thermal conductivity of helium helps provide a flatter weld bead and good fusion into the base plate.Stainless Steel MIG Welding with Compact Weldershttp://www.lincolnelectric.com/.../w....asp...Lincoln Electric
Reply:what wire were you using? what gas at what CFH?If you want help, we need ALL the info.  AWS CWI xxxx21711968 SA200  Originally Posted by WelderMike  I hate being bipolar, It's awesome.
