I was mig welding on a track pad table I'm making and thought hey I've never really stick welded with this machine. The only time was when I first unboxed it. I burnt half a 6011 1/8" rod that came with the machine just to make sure it worked. So tonight I switched up for a stinger and oh boy am I surprised. The mig was 19.5v 300 ipm the arc was 98A 3/32 7018h8 7018ac that's what's stamped on the rod? not even sure where I got them. Are they ac rods I'm not sure? Any way here's some picsSent from my iPhone using TapatalkThermal arc 211iCk flex-loc 150 & 130Clamps, saws & grindersHarbor freight 80 amp inverter

Reply:Oldendum It is a dc unit just wasn't sure about the electrodes they must be ac rods or it wouldn't be stamped on themDocwelder thanks for the kind words. The arc welding side of this machine runs like butter which really surprised me. Now I have to the stainless arc welding. Reply:Very nice beads. Both methods. Now get some Lincoln 7018 Excalibur rod and don't look back. If you're that good with the 7018 AC rod, you'll amaze yourself at what you can do with Excalibur.
Reply:stick gets a bad rap, but it is a good process if you have some skills.Miller Multimatic 255 |
