Want To Buy Lincoln Idealarc 250

Hey guys I am looking for a later model Lincoln Idealarc 250 in the Arizona area. Not the rounded top units but a later model one, ie. square top. I need one for some good ole stick welding like welding cast to steel and face hardening. Reply:Why no roundtops? Need the stackability? We had 36 of the square 250s and they work fine, but so do the roundtops, and for that matter, so do Miller Dialarcs. (Used Dialarc remote controls are more commonly available if that matters.) I'd be looking at condition and price rather than model if you are after the best deal.Good hunting!

I understand preference, but there are lots of 250 amp class machines that will burn rod, and unless they were tested side by side, the differences may not be all that great. Reply:That old square top sure is cute with the matching height cylinder. What year is it?I revise my statement. Round tops are horrible. Send them to me coiled in clean, new welding lead to cut down the radiation from the depleted uranium transformer core and I will dispose of them for a small fee. Feel free to throw all that acetylene gear the shortage has just made obsolete so no one hurts themselves trying to run it on the wrong gas. It's the right thing to do, and I'm only here to help.
