Finally took the plunge into a wire welder. Found this unit at HD on there closeout shelf for $295. Now I have to learn to use it. A few questions: Any thing I can put on the wire to prevent rusting while not in use? Any trick to welding slightly rusted metal? I found it hard to strike an arc even on the highest setting. What's the most economical source for shielding gas and the tanks? I mainly want to weld mild steel and have heard using gas makes a much cleaner weld. Any help will be greatly appreciated!Eric
