Ive got an old Lincoln 225 Weldanpower with a 2 cyl onan that has a bad starter. I havnt found a data plate on it anywhere so I dont know exactly what model onan it is, Ive heard the early ones didnt have an oil filter but mine does if that helps narrow things down any. going by looks Id guess its got to be 20 yrs old or so. It does have points ignition...OCG
Reply:I just replaced my starter on my wp 225 g7 onan engine p216g. the part number is on the old starter. You can pick one up on Ebay really reasonable. If you know the code and serial number you can get part number from Lincoln electric website.
