Plasma torch ?????????

Are the torch connecting fittings on Plasma Units the same so that the torch from one manuf. be interchangable with another manuf.?
Reply:Short answer: No.Long answer : Maybe. Some cheap imports are "clones" and may or may not use similar parts. There's no "standard" so unless you can match up pieces exactly or have the tooling and knowledge to adapt parts, don't expect this to work. Don't expect to be able to simply buy a Thermal Dynamics, Hypertherm, Miller torch etc and just plug it in to another machine and have it work. Not going to happen..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear.
