I am trying to replace a rheostat on my Miller Bobcat 250 and am having trouble getting the fine control knob off. There doesn't seem to be a grub screw,it is very hard to see through the slot.Has anyone ever taken one of these off?Any clues would be appreciated.
Reply:I had to cut the knobs on my Miller 301G with a Dremal tool and a slicer blades. Bought new ones. I tried everything I could think of with no luck. Dan D.Manipulator Of Metal
Reply:I'd have to go look at my 251 but I thought there was a flat head screw or allen head up in there. Either way it's probably rusted to the shaft. If you end up fubaring the knob you might be able to get a small two or three finger puller on the sleeve and pull it off.
Reply:Thanks for the replies,I ended up getting it off, there is a small clip that holds the knob on.It is very hard to see but enough poking around with a screwdriver and the knob came off.
Reply:Excellent! Might save me some effort with a BFH if I ever need to remove mine! |
