Hi all, just picked up welder and it doesn't work right. code # 9933-A1205495. It has weak arc and only about 62 vlts out of the 120 vlt recep, it won't idle up the govenor. I noticed there was some burnt looking pieces on the PC board, the 2 middle of the 4 and diode under them. Also looking for a starter as this one is shot, does have B&sS with pull start. sorry for the long post, Thanx Dave
Reply:Sounds like 'idler PCBoard. Have any pics?
Reply:Thanks for the reply, been looking around here and am going to clean all con. and put die grease on everything. will try to get some pics. Dave
Reply:Didn't get any pics, forgot, but cleaned all terminals. It is still the same, however if I manually idle up the govenor my father-in-law can run a perfect weld and a drop cord will light up perfectly. I am just trying to cover all bases before I shell out $ for it. Also there are 4 rectangular plastic diode looking things and the two middle ones are brown looking and 2 outer ones look fine. If it is the PC board does anyone know where to get a new or rebuilt at a reasonable price. Thanks Dave
Reply:PC board is probably the culprit then...It'll cost around 200 for a repaired one. Here's a link for a reputable company that fixed mine: http://innovatcorp.com/page/kzjh/Company.htmlEsab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Just wondering could it have something to do with the oil press. switch. seen a thread on here about jumping it but not sure which wires to jump. Also looking for info on jumping neg. terminal of field bridge rectifier to neg. brush terminal, if I understand correctly(maybe not) you can do that to bypass the PC board? Thanks Dave
Reply:Update... talked to Innovat, the tech said it sounds like it is the fuel solenoid(govenor) as it tries to idle up but won't all the way. Is there any way to bypass or jump it. Any ideas would be appreciated, Dave

Reply:Took it apart and cleaned it up, it doesn't seem to be very strong. I can't seem to find anything about it on the net. Still trying to figure it out. Dave
Reply:Talked to the local welding dist. today and they had a Ranger 8 they were working on, I explained to him what was going on and he said someone may have messed with the gov. He told me to come down and check out the Ranger. I seem to be missing a spring on the gov. and was wondering if anyone out there has a G8000 that they could take a couple pics of the solenoid that runs the gov. Thanks for all the help, Dave
Reply:Go to your local small engine distributor, most likely, they will be the ones to help on the governer.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT

Reply:Update...... Just thought I would thank you for the help, finally got it figured out. All it needed was a spring on the solenoid and a little tweaking with it and the throttle, works like a champ, not to bad for $350. Ready to weld, thanks again Dave
Reply:I have a g-8000 that only has a high idel and will not put out any current i thought it was the pc board ...replaced that and it is still the same
