Diy roller guides?

Looking to build some cheap roller guides I want to hang welding curtains and roll them down the shop when I use other equipment. I know some one out there has done it or thought about it any help or pics would be great.
Reply:Don't have any pictures but I would suggest looking at drapery hardware.  I'm thinking of the floor to ceiling type drapes with a ceiling mounted tracks.

Reply:Yup those tracks from McMaster look like what I'm looking for. Just who's hi could fab something up cheaper. Those weren't to bad.yeah looking to mount to a track and slide them the length of the shop about 20'
Reply:If your in farm country... start asking around for barn door track. Sometimes you can buy it used for cheap.Another option would be a flat bar track. Google "flat bar barn door hardware" for inspiration.I was going to put up a track in my shop at one time. Instead I use a roll around screen because it's more flexible.
Reply:To make some tracks try round conduit , make the rollers from some plastic rollers  . Hang the round track with threaded rod through the center , and with conduit you can make curves . The hangers are flat stock in a Y shape ,with a roller on each end of the Y . When shaped right they will roll all about and not hit the centered hanging rods. With only curtains hanging from it you could get get by with a threaded rod every 10 " of so. and as many rollers as you need .(Does any one follow me on this  or am I just babbling).gxbxc
Reply:gxbxc you're cristal clear  ....OP  you can also get something made with cantruss or, a real cheap way for 20 ft could be to tighten a cloth line  ant zip tie your curtains to it.
Reply:just looked at the track on MC masterCarr  ,that stuff is $50 for "1" ten foot piece , you can but a lot of conduit for that much money . They had plastic rollers  for as little as 85 cents each.
Reply:Ok so what I'm thinking of doing is super cheap or simple! Simplest and cheapest would be shower curtains. It might bow a bit unless I can figure out supports that won't interfere with the curtain hangers. What I'm thinking that if like to do but unsure if feasible is to get some plastic cheap closet door rollers and make up a track for that.

Reply:that's exactly what I was thinking! Some square tube with a cut gap down center and rig up some closet door wheels.
Reply:The cheaper the better if I could keep it under a hundred not including welding screens. I have to ask my work for a quote on some square tubing.

Reply:dont mess cutting lenghtwise sq tubing, buy cantruss, unistrut, canstrut...(google it)available up to 20 ft lenght. cheaper and way better than what you will get from all this work you're planning.
