I'm very new to brazing, and have so far attempted only five joints. The first one was a practice braze. 2 and 3 were part of a project, and turned out pretty well (except for minor bending on one of the joints). 4 and 5 are failures. I am using angled aluminum that's pretty thing (1/16, I think). I have right angle clamps to align the pieces for brazing. It seems that when clamped, the pieces heat up and bend. I can think of three solutions: 1. Don't tighten the clamp so much2. Try to cool down the area that's in the clamp with ice or something, so that only the area worked on is heated.3. Just align the pieces on a flat surface without clamps. All of these possible solutions have disadvantages. Which one is the right one? Is there some other solution that I'm overlooking? Thanks.
