lookin to purchase a new tig machine, question is Precision 225 or V205 ? probably will stay in garage most of the time. wandering of pro's and con's on both machines. price really does not make my decisions, both will cost so, V205 w/bells and wistles or Precision 225 w/ whats needed ???????welding instuctor
Reply:I would go with the V205, a while back I was looking at the 2 and I went with the PT225, I ended up selling it after about 3 months, not because I didnt like the way it welded, but I have to transport my welder on occasion, and at about 250# it wasnt the most fun. When I found a good deal on a dynasty I jumped on it and havent been happier. The V205 is going to give ya a few more options than the PT and it is an inverter so it will take and use less input power. Also a lot lighter so if you do have to take it anywhere it is a lot easier. I have never welded with the 205, but I hear they are nice machines. Reply:I bought a Lincoln 275 squarewave off of craigslist with everything but a cooler for 1500 dollars. Looked like it was hardly used. For home use it is more than enough machine for me. If I was welding with a Tig for a living I would buy an inverter for adjustability at portability, but I don't plan on moving my out of the garage. If you have the money and want the best I would get an inverter machine. |
