My first sculpture (eagle)

I've seen a couple Eagles on here, mines nowhere as good, but I just wanted to see if I could make one from scrap and what I hadI started this in late 2012, worked here and there on it bout 2hrs each session, I finally wanted to finish it and get it outside, I figure I have about 38hrs in it, don't know if I'm going to let it rust naturally or do something else for a finish, but it's gonna be illuminated at night, I welcome all suggestions and critiques lol

Reply:Nice! I really like the profile that the last pic reveals. It looks like he is giving one last flap of air brake before landing on a branch to scout his next meal. We have had a re-emergence of the bald eagle round these parts and it's becoming more and more common to see a few of the families that exist in and around the more natural parts of our town, especially on the river.Have you seen any of the work from that guy (I believe from out west) that makes sculptures from old chrome car bumpers?-Niche

Reply:How does something like that actually get assembled? Reply:Eagle looks great.As far as a finish, how about keeping the head polished and shiny and clear coated, and letting the rest rust.  Er, I mean naturally patinate.

POs me to see the flag on NFL helmets on the wrong side as well or movies and television shows that have uniforms, ESPECIALLY military and LEO pilots' flight bags, with the stripes going the wrong way. Reply:And thank you very much. There's a ton of knowledge to be learned from the older generations. Many young people take that knowledge for granted. I can't allow myself to make that same poor decision. And I love my country. I've been fortunate to be able to travel all over with my family and it just shows me how great of a country we have the opportunity to live in. I feel truly blessed to live here. Even for the small things, like the opportunity to learn about welding from awesome people across the country (and world) through this great forum. Unfortunately a lot of people live in countries where they don't have that opportunity. So I'm going to take advantage of the fact that I'm lucky enough to live in America. And I will soak up all the knowledge people with more experience have (in welding and other things). One of the great parts of being an American.Craftsman 90 amp Arc welder
