Welding Outside? ??

Using #9 lenses I couldn't see what I was welding.Any suggestions?

Reply:Like Kingston said, Sun at your back? If so re-position. Clear lens dirty? Inner and outer lens?Maybe your further away from the workpiece than usual while welding outside? You might need or try magnifying lens aka cheater lens, even if you don't usually use glasses.You could also go to a lighter number on the welding lens, but 9 seems ok.J.E.

Reply:Get some self stick Velcro and do the upper back of the helmet. Put the other part on a "drape" of dark shade cloth or cotton and hang the "drape" to block the light.Your breath is another issue contantly fogging the inside lens.Scrip glasses double that problem.That's why every welder needs this.
