Farmer looking to purchase new Tig/Stick

Hello all! Hope your Holidays went Great! About to choose between an Everlast 255 EXT ac/dc or the 325 EXT ac/dc with water cooler and stand and torches. the 255 goes down to 5 amp to 255 as the 325 will only go down to 10 amp. Should this deter me from the 325 or should I just bite the bullet. I currently have a miller 212 mig and a lincoln 305 portable and an older lincoln 180 stick in the old shop. I priced the miller 280 and same equipment but it is almost 2.5 times as much money. Any opinions or help would be appreciated.

Reply:I have been happy with my miller 212 mig ...just wish I would have bought the 252. that being said 5 year warrantee and 3000 instead of 9400?
Reply:you might want to read the many threads on the everlast and chinese welders here before you buy.....Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:To get the best recommendation, tell us what you will be using it for primarily, type of metal, how thick of material, how often Will you use it.  does it need to be portable? R u willing to look at used machines? Reply:Well It will be used for shaft rebuilds, sometimes T1, stainless, Aluminum, some tungsten, and who knows, but I would not like to limit. I have a Lincoln 305 for portable stick stuff and supply tig if necessary. The thickness can vary from pop can to .75 inch...any more can do multiple passes. I have been watching for used but used is used usually no warranties and not that many up here right now. U. Reply:Member here Pine just bought an Everlast 325 EXT. When he gets a hole in his work schedule he is going to bring it to my shop so I can help him with his Tig welding. I own a couple SMAW welders of Everlast, and I got to run one of their 120-volt Mig welders.
