I've been trying to find 2 face plates for my sa 200's. they are 197?'s.I haven't found codes on either machine but the serial #'s are there and anyone I've contacted don't know what to look for without a code#. I've tried bill's welder repair but my e-mails keep bouncing back as un-delivered. Any suggestions? Mine are in very poor condition and barely readable. They look very similiar to an L-5171.

Reply:Could be Canadian machines. No code number was used for Canadian machines of that vintage.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Canadian faceplate of that vintage will say CL-5171 showing it was made in Toronto Canada. I like to remember CL-5171 as "Canadian Lincoln-5171" and L-5171 as "Lincoln-5171".Don't know of a faceplate replacement for the Canadian SA200If all you want is usability then I would use an L-5171Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Heres a good place to start if its Canadian.send an email to this address with your serial #,s and ask the year of manufacture and which code corresponds to your models and you can find a faceplate with that info but will be a US faceplate. She is lightning quick and very cordial. [email protected] FelonPS if your stuck on a Canadian plate decalshoppe will make a copy of your nasty plate for a premium but the second plate will be regular price.Last edited by Felonyass Monk; 11-16-2009 at 09:09 AM.Caution lurker lives here" hmmm That is serious, pass the ganja and pick up a 24 of MGD"
Reply:www.stumpfweldingsupplies.com has pics of all the nameplates they carry for the sa-200's. should be easy to match up with pics.
Reply:Those are all USA nameplates. Canadian replacements don't exist from what I can determine.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."
Reply:Took some pics of my Canadian faceplate (in the dark with flash). Shows some subtle differences from the American version. No place for a code since they didn't use codes on those days on Canadian machines. You cannot see this (too much glare) but the serial has no "A "in front of the number.Shows CL-5171 as the faceplace part number.Says Lincoln Electric of Canada Limited Attached ImagesGordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

Reply:Hmm, must be something about "some subtle differences" that escaped you Duane.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

Reply:Thanks NITESKY, I couldn't get a decent picture of mine being so faded. even tried old school film camera. Thats exactly it. I'll send my numbers and your pictures to lincoln and see if they have leads to canadian face plates.
Reply:Heard back from Cathy @ lincoln. She dosen't konw of anyone who makes the Canadian faceplate. I'll have to use the American L-5171.
Reply:Try this guy, traysdesign.com. If you want it to say Canada on it I bet for a little extra $ they could do it |
