Was cutting 1.5", right to left. CNC table using propylene/oxy. Looked like it was running along fine, then that. I'm new to burn tables so will probably be asking a lot questions soon.Thanks.

Reply:I would guess something either caused it to jump some or the torch tip had debris in it..... Both are just guesses.HH 187Miller Bluestar1EAHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:If You could do that consistently maybe some one would buy it for a decorative touch.
Reply:it was probably a slight blowback from the baseplate partially clogging the cutting tip. Used to see similar in track torch work if the steel weren't very clean and free of rust, grease, dirt, or other impurities. Seen some imported steel plates do strange things also when being cut due to inconsistency in the steel structure.SlobPurveyor of intimate unparalleled knowledge of nothing about everything.Oh yeah, also an unabashed internet "Troll" too.....
Reply:I try to use a broom dipped in the tank to clean off everything I put in the table, then squeegee off excess.Never used propylene before, or cut 2" before, so a bit if a learning curve. Got 1-1/4" up first this morning so we'll see how that goes.
Reply:Things I have recently learned:1. I need to keep the tip closer to the surface. A lot closer.2. Keep an eye on my cutting oxygen tank. It runs out fast.3. Keep an eye on my cutting oxygen tank. The temperature in the building affects the output psi. At least I'm assuming that part. As the day progressed, the output psi dropped. Only thing that changes was it got hotter!Cut about 75 parts out of a 48x96x1-1/4" plate. Almost all were perfect.
