I have a local PA 5000 for sale. Guy is asking $750 for it. It only has about 120hrs and comes with leads. I offered $500 just to test the waters. Is $750 a good deal for one? Would a $600 offer be too low?
Reply:I would think 120 welding hours would be a lot of hours on that little engine. Has oil been added/changed as needed. Is it a Briggs or subaru engine. The briggs engine is essentially disposable and very difficult/expensive to find replacement engine with the correct shaft for the generator. It really is a generator that happen to weld.I see them listed for 750 regularly. I don't thing those with the briggs engine are worth that. I don't know about the newer ones.
