Which hood would you pick?

I've narrowed the down hood I want to 2. One is the Lincoln Viking 1740 and the other is a Fibre-Metal Pipeliner with an auto darkening lens. Both are about the same price in my area. I have some experience with the viking 1740, but known with the pipeliner. So, what hood you pick and why.
Reply:I would pick the Pipeliner. Reason being; look at the large ledge of the Viking around where the lens sets. Reply:Ha, I just answered a similar question in a thread about this just two minutes ago.   I have a Viking aut darkening and I've "moth balled it."   The Pipeliner is king for me.  I just put in an inexpensive  Hobart #10 gold lens (non auto darkening) and I love it.  I'm fully adjusted and used to just flipping the hood down now and I don't ever feel the need to use an auto darkening hood for my hobby projects.  If I weld under a car in a tight slice, then I'd go back to the Viking.  That happened like maybe twice a year.   Now If I were a professional and making a living from welding, then I'd invest in the more expensive gold glass lenses that the pros rave about here.  Otherwise, it's I love what I have because it's a beautiful sight picture and I can frickn see the puddle so clearly with the cheaply gold lens.  I'd never substitute my Pipeliner.  I do have the Fibre-metal "Tigerhood" because that allows a more comfortable fit for when using a pancake respirator for welding galvanized steel with 6010/6011 (Because grinding the zinc off sucks and I don't do it).
